Independent Study Scholarships

 Each concert season, KVYSO offers its current musicians, other than graduating seniors, scholarships for independent study at music camp or with private teachers.

The two-part applications may be made during the 2 nd semester of the season for these study scholarships. The study scholarships will be granted with the following taken into consideration:

• Attendance
• Attitude
• Musicianship
• Recommendation of private music teacher or school music teacher or KVYSO Coach
• Funding availability

Applications for a study scholarship must be postmarked by March 15 at 5 P.M . of the current orchestra season. No Application will be accepted after that time .

Current seniors are not eligible to apply.

Awards for study scholarships will be made at the April concert. Recipients then will be notified of the dollar amount of their study scholarship.

It is expected that study scholarship winners will return to KVYSO the following season if at all possible.

The 3-page Study Scholarship Application consists of a 2-page “Musician’s Form” and a 1-page “Teacher Recommendation Form”. All 3 pages of the application may be downloaded from this web site.
